So I guess I can't use Lync for Mac on macOS Catalina. Known workarounds. I installed Skype for Business on my iPad and had no trouble connecting to the call that way. But I want to use my Mac for this. Additional details. I'm using macOS Catalina 10.15.3 (19D76). My normal browser is. Skype for business lync free download - Skype for Business for Windows 10, Skype for Business, CallButler Free For Skype, and many more programs. Download and install. If don't already have Skype for Business installed, see: Install Skype for Business on Mac. Install Skype for Business on a mobile device. The Skype for Business Autodiscover Web Service is successful: Testing remote connectivity for user [email protected] to the Microsoft Lync server. The specified user successfully signed in to Microsoft Lync server remotely through the Lync Access Edge Server. Additional Details Elapsed Time: 4724 ms.
System Requirements
Make sure your computer will support Skype for Business:
- OS X El Capitan (10.11), macOS Sierra (10.12), macOS High Sierra (10.13), or macOS Mojave (10.14)
- Skype for Business 16.22 or newer is required for macOS Mojave
- Outlook Mac build 15.27 (161010) or newer required for Outlook integration
- Make sure your computer is fully patched with security and software updates.
- Recommended hardware configurations are described on the Recommended Computer Configurations page.
If you previously had the Mac Lync 2011 client installed, you should perform a clean uninstall of the Lync before installing Skype for Business. Instructions for this can be found at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2691870/how-to-do-a-clean-uninstallation-of-lync-for-mac-2011.

Important updates for Skype for Business are sometimes released after Microsoft creates the Skype for Business installation package.
Use Microsoft AutoUpdate on your Mac to keep your Office software up-to-date. You can manually check for updates by opening the Skype for Business client, then going to Help > Check for Updates

Before you deploy or upgrade to Skype for Business, check which clients are already in use in your organization. Use the tables below to understand the feature support impact on those clients. This can help you communicate changes to users, pace the roll-out process, and fully understand the benefits of upgrading to the latest client.
Some features available with Skype for Business Server 2015 are not available in Skype for Business Online, see Online or Hybrid user account limitations for specifics. The following tables show the features that are available with each client that works with Skype for Business Server 2015 or Skype for Business Online. Client limitations
Basic client limitations
The features below are available using the Full client and are not available with the Basic client:
- Manage team call settings
- Manage delegates
- Handle another's calls if configured as a delegate
- Manage a high volume of calls
- Initiate a call to a Response Group
- Call park
- Change greeting
- Group call pickup
- Missed call notification emails are not generated when a user status is UM disabled and they are using a legacy Outlook Client (2013 or earlier)
Online or Hybrid user account limitations
User accounts can exist either Online or On-premises, and that will affect the features available to that user. Users with accounts on Skype for Business Online will not have access to the following features, even with the Full client:
